Appearance
Poodle is one of the famous dog breeds in the world. There are plenty of reasons. This dog appearance is far different than other dog breeds. This breed is a group of formal dog breeds. They have many varieties like Standard Poodle, Toy Poodle and Miniature Poodle with many color coats. Originated from Germany and identified as a water dog. But officially standardized in France. Poodle is a square shaped, intelligent and elegant dog. Their well proportioned body gives an unique strength and athletic abilities. They have oval shaped and very dark eyes. Ears should fold over close to the head. Their coat have strong curly texture,dense through out the body.Unlike most other dog which have a double coat,Poodles have a single layer coat. Many of them will have a shaven look before dog show as per the AKC standards.
Temperament
Poodles are known as intelligent, active, sociable dog breed. This breed has an extraordinary drives towards hunting and sense of instinct behaviors than many other dog breeds. Generally they are reserves with strangers in the beginning. They will take some time to get along with new people. Naturally they are great learners. They can be excel in obedience training. Also they are well known sport dog breed. Many dog sports including dog agility, fly ball, dock driving, field tracking are natural for this dog breed. They can be the good followers on hiking trips or any other trip involving swimming as long as the dog is accustomed to water and swimming.

My wife and I have been thinking about getting a dog for some time now, and we had been thinking about buying a poodle. I was happy to read that poodles are generally intelligent dogs, which would make teaching it how to do tricks pretty easy. My wife is also allergic to most dogs, but have heard that poodles are hypoallergenic. I think it would be a perfect fit for our family! Thanks for your post!
